ABOUT JOSHUA SLONE, BA, ACSM-EP/PAIN THERAPIST
Helping People Move, Live, and Feel Well One Step at a Time
I built Move Well, Live Well with one mission:
to help people feel safe in their bodies again.
Pain steals more than comfort. It steals confidence. It steals joy. It steals the ability to do the simple things that make life feel like life. And too many people are told to just “push through,” “rest forever,” or worst of all —
“it’s all in your head.”
I don’t believe any of that.
I believe you deserve care that sees you — not just your symptoms.

Who I Am
My name is Joshua Slone, and I’m an ACSM-Certified, Registered Exercise Physiologist with advanced training in:
- Chronic pain
- Orthopedic and post-injury care
- Neurological conditions (including Parkinson’s disease)
- Concussion recovery
- Functional movement and medical fitness
- Trauma-informed physical activity
- Complex health presentations
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, am a masters candidate studying pain medicine, and have spent my career working as a senior clinician, a wellness coordinator, a home-care therapist, and a clinical manager. I now bring all of that experience directly to the people who need it most — you.
How I Work
I don’t believe in cookie-cutter programs or “do this and call me later” approaches.
Your story matters. Your values matter. Your life matters.
My work blends:
- Movement therapy
- Pain science education
- Behavior change coaching
- Lifestyle management
- Empathy, humor, and play (yes, sometimes we quite literally play games)
You will never be rushed.
You will never be dismissed.
You will never be shamed for your pain or your pace.
Instead, we explore, troubleshoot, move, breathe, and rebuild your sense of safety and capacity — step by step.
Who I Help
I support people who struggle with:
- Chronic or persistent pain
- Fear of moving or re-injury
- Recovery after orthopedic or soft-tissue injuries
- Difficulty walking or balance challenges
- Neurological conditions
- Medical complexity that makes exercise feel overwhelming
- Stress, tension, and movement-related anxiety
- “I’ve tried everything and nothing helped” frustration
If you’ve been stuck between other care and “you’re on your own now,” this is the space built exactly for you.
My Philosophy
You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t need to “push through it.”
You don’t need to earn care with suffering.
You need:
- a guide
- a plan
- a safe place to start
- someone who isn’t afraid of your pain
- someone who knows how to help you move toward hope, strength, and possibility
My approach is evidence-informed, client-centered, and rooted in a simple core belief:
Every person can move toward a better life with the right support.
More About Me
When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me:
- playing with my two dogs
- building LEGO creations
- listening to far too much music
- spending time outdoors
But above all, I’m someone who cares deeply about people — and someone who believes that everyone deserves a life with less pain and more joy.
